How To Find A Great Caterer.

Let's face it, no matter who we hire for entertainment or no matter how much as you spend on decor, your guests will first comment on the quality of the food.  Contrary to common belief, this does not mean that you need to find the most expensive caterer.  Rather, providing your guests with the right selection of hor d'oeuvres, entrees, and desserts is essential.

A proper meal is the way you, as the host, tell your guests that you've appreciated their presence at your event.  Some of your guests may be vegeterians or have certain dietary restrictings.  Being prepared to accomodate the varying needs can make your guests with these requirements feel special--that you took the time to consider them in your decision to prepare the menu.  Smaller servings of many different hor d'oeuvres may be an option to consider to present guests with various flavors and to accomodate differing food choices.  Serving your dinner in a buffet style is also a way to cope with varying food limitations.  This allows each person to choose only what they would want to eat.  Finally, don't forget to include sugarfree dessert options.  This would cater to those guests who may be diabetic.

Be sure to consider who you are hiring.  You are trusting the catering service with the most important part of your event.  Punctuality as well as friendlines and professionalism are key characteristics to be able to judge before commiting yourself to the catering service.  The catering service should be on-time, reasonable to speak to, and dress and act for the party.  And don't forget the doggy bag--while cleaning up, ask your catering service to pack up the leftovers.
